Core OS Software Engineer

Job Description:
In this position, you will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and developing operating system software enhancements for operating systems and virtualization software. You will be working closely with vendors such as Microsoft and the desktop, server, mobile and phone business units at Intel. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
– Reviewing processor and platform features for core OS and Virtualization enabling
– Analyzing, debugging and evaluating system software and processor errata for current systems and future Intel ® processors.
– Researching, implementing and driving adoption by optimized alternatives and algorithms for OS and virtualization software. These optimizations will involve performance and feature enhancements to support advanced Intel® microprocessors, chipsets and platforms.
– Providing input into processor and platform features and architecture definition

In this role the ideal candidate will have:
-Good verbal and written communication skills
-Experience leading projects in a related environment.
-Demonstrated skills to analyzing complex problems quickly leading to the development of creative solutions and adapt to a fast paced environment
Desired Skills & Experience
Candidate must possess a minimum of a master of science in computer science, or other relevant degree (or the alternative a BS degree + experience). Must also demonstrate technical understanding of the Intel® architecture.

Additional qualifications include:
– One or more years of work or coursework experience to demonstration of knowledge regarding processor architecture, operating systems internals, kernel debug skills, device driver development, performance analysis tools and techniques, power management, virtualization, RAS, graphics, sensor, security plus low-level hardware programming and debugging.
